The latest gossip doing the rounds is that Bollywood actress Preity Zinta is set to tie the knot with Ness Wadia, the great grandson of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.

The award winning Indian actress started dating Ness, son of Bombay Dyeing owners Nusli and Maureen Wadia, in February 2005, reports the Daily Times.

The couple’s relationship went through a bad patch earlier this year after singer Suchitra Krishnamurthy blamed Preity for her divorce with Shekhar Kapur.

Krishnamurthy alleged that the actress was having an affair with her director husband.

The news of the wedding has come after several reports of cold vibes between Zinta and Wadia's mother Maureen had been circulated by the media.

I just wrapped up a movie Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and now its ready for release! Karan: And now you have some other films you are doing� you worked with Rituparna Ghosh on a film with Mr. Bachchan. Preity: Yes! It�s an English film called The Last Lear with Mr. Bachchan, Arjun Rampal, Shefali Shah and Divya Dutta! Karan: Great! So� so much work happening� no time for love? We would all go out in my dads van every night out and she would be sitting right at the back quiet to her self. And one day she came up to me and said Ok! I�m doing criminal psychology. Can I make you my subject? And I said to her, look Preity� I would love to but I�m from this family and if I talk about myself and if you say this is my subject Bobby Deol, I can�t do it! Karan: You wanted to make bobby your subject? Preity: But you know in the beginning I didn�t know Bobby as Dharmendra�s son. Karan: Who did you think he was? Preity: I swear. When I first met him he was one of the guys in the group and I had to look for someone between 23-28 ka age group, I was finding and I needed 5 subjects and actually I didn�t realize. Bobby: Actually I never thought she wanted to get into movies. I was at Shekhar�s office for two years waiting for my film to start. Nothing was happening� I got to know everyone in the staff. I was going to start shooting for Soldier and I went to the studio and they said �Preity aayi thi yaha par� uska screen test accha tha� and �I was like Preity kaun? Uska surname kya hain and then they said Preity Zinta. And I said mereko dikhao and then I saw it and I was like �she�s pretty good man!�� and then when I was shooting for Soldier I didn�t recommend her but I told them there is this girl and she�s very good and I didn�t know she�s already signed on for another film and then she was my heroine and her first film was with me.

Preity Zinta (born 31 January 1974) is an Indian actress.

Biography

Born in Shimla, native of Rohru, she studied at the Jesus and Mary Simla Convent School after getting a degree in criminal psychology at the St. Bedes College, Zinta began her career as a model, and commercial (ad films) actress (she was seen in Lyril (soap ad film). Her father, Durganand Zinta died when she was thirteen in a car accident in which her mother, Nilprabha Zinta was also involved. Her mother was bedridden because of this incident. Zinta has two brothers, Deepanker Zinta and Manish Zinta, a year older and a year younger respectively.

Preity Zinta's first movie was supposed to be Kya Kehna but due to delay Dil Se was released first. The film was her breakthrough role and she won the Filmfair Best Debut Award for her performance. Since then her career was that of a typical Bollywood star: not many hits but not many flops either.

In 2003, Zinta had two smash hits, Koi... Mil Gaya and Kal Ho Naa Ho. She is currently among the most successful actresses in Bollywood. In the year of 2003, she won many awards for her role in the film, Kal Ho Naa Ho. Her performance got her the Filmfare Best Actress Award. Since then she has appeared in two other box office hits, Veer-Zaara (2004) and Salaam Namaste (2005).

Preity Zintajoined a group of top stars (Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Rampal, and Priyanka Chopra) in the Temptation 2004 concert, which was a huge international success. She also modeled for Manish Malhotra during Lakme Fashion Week, and has received a invitation to represent Bollywood at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2006 along with Karan Johar.

Preity Zinta narrowly escaped death twice in late 2004, once after an explosion at a Temptation concert in Colombo, and later in the Indian Ocean Tsunami.
